Your First Session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and explore what has brought you to counselling. We'll talk about what you would like support with, what you hope to gain from counselling, and I'll explain how I work and answer any questions you may have. There is no pressure to share anything you're not ready to talk about.
What You Can Expect
I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can talk openly without judgement. Our sessions are guided by you and what feels most important, allowing us to work at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe counselling is built on a genuine human connection. Alongside my professional knowledge and experience, I'll meet you with empathy, authenticity and compassion, creating a relationship where you can feel safe, supported and able to be yourself.
Finding the right counsellor is important, and your first session gives you the opportunity to decide whether you feel comfortable working with me.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is a fundamental part of our therapeutic relationship, and I take this responsibility seriously. Everything you share with me will remain confidential, with the exception of a small number of safeguarding or legal situations, which I'll explain clearly before we begin.
I work ethically and am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am committed to ongoing professional development through regular supervision, continued training and CPD.
